Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT  ) claimed 10% of the 20 contracts the Pentagon awarded Monday, winning a total of about $20 million in new government work. Specifically:

Lockheed's Integrated Systems unit was awarded $8 million as a modification to a previously awarded cost-plus-fixed-fee contract to provide information technology services to Army offices at the Pentagon, and elsewhere in the National Capital Region. The Department of Defense confirms that this award raises the cumulative face value of this contract to $49.7 million. Lockheed also won a cost-plus-fixed-fee contract to perform support services in the field upon PATRIOT Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) surface-to-air-missile batteries. This contract is valued at up to $12 million. Work is to be performed both domestically in Dallas, El Paso, and Killeen, Texas, and in Lawton, Okla., and Fayetteville, N.C., but also abroad at locations in Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Germany, South Korea, Japan, and Turkey.�DoD did not classify this contract award as a foreign military sales contract, however, suggesting the foreign work will be done at U.S. Army bases abroad.�

Lockheed describes the PAC-3, a "hit-to-kill" missile, as "the world's most advanced, capable, and powerful terminal air defense missile" and bills it as capable of shooting down everything from aircraft and cruise missiles to tactical ballistic missiles.

The QS-H150 has automatic and continuous self-calibration. It monitors its environment, senses changes that would affect its accuracy, and re-calibrates accordingly. The system requires no user intervention and no calibration cons! umables. The detection process begins with the collection of a sample with its vortex collector. After collection, the sample is ionized photonically and analyzed using ion mobility spectrometer (IMS) technology. The presence of a threat substance is indicated by a visible and audible alarms. By measuring different properties of the same species, interferents are separated from target species for a deterministic detection and identification and have minimum rates of false alarms. Names like Implant Sciences Corporation (OTCMKTS:IMSC) and NXT-ID (OTCBB:NXTD) are battling in the security and facility-defense arena as well; IMSC makes explosives-detection and drug-detection hardware, while NXTD designs 3D image-rendering software that caters to the unique needs of prison security personnel, though the same technology has been proven in more traditional functions like building-security systems that keep certain people out rather than in. Neither Implant Sciences nor NXT-ID compete directly head-to-head with View Systems, however ... fortunately for them. See, VSYM is considered by some to be the best in the industry.

Agruim Inc. (NYSE: AGU) boosted its dividend by $1.00 per share to a total dividend of $3.00 on an annualized basis. Shares of the global retailer of agricultural products now sprout a 3.54% yield. Air Industries Group Inc. (NYSE: AIRI) doubled its dividend to $0.125 per share. The maker of airplane and helicopter parts now floats a lofty yield of 6.6%. Alexandria Real Estate Equities Inc. (NYSE: ARE) upped its dividend 4.6% to $0.68 per quarter for a yield of 4.21%. Banner Corp. (Nasdaq: BANR) boosted its quarterly dividend 25% to $0.15 per share.
